Part Time Assistant Manager of Patron Services

Job Summary/Purpose
The Asst. Manager, Patron Services (Part-Time) is a frontline hospitality team member charged with delivering exceptional experiences for patrons of The Sharon and The Studio Theatre. This position will have additional co-responsibility for the recruitment, training, and ongoing satisfaction and retention of a team of volunteers who fill usher, tour guide, patron contact, and other shifts across both venues.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for this position include the following:
- Oversee all front-of-house operations prior to, during, and after assigned events at The Sharon and The Studio Theatre, to include preparing spaces for day of show, briefing volunteer ushers before doors open, handling various ticketing and other patron concerns, monitoring patron safety, and completing post-performance reports.
- Serve as the frontline for patron feedback, issues, and concerns and respond with the highest levels of hospitality and guest service while dealing with the public on behalf of SigPro.
- Operate ticket sales and troubleshooting using Tessitura box office and ticketing software.
- Identify and resolve/report custodial, facilities, and IS&T issues to the appropriate internal and external groups as appropriate and directed.
- Become competent and capable of running HM and AHM tracks at both venues, including house checks, ADA accommodations, usher stations, front of house preshow meetings, and other needs as they arise.
- Become knowledgeable of and adhere to ADA, fire code, and other safety requirements and assist in educating front of house staff and volunteers in same.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or commensurate professional experience required.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in writing and orally is a requirement of this position.
- Two or more years’ experience in theatre, entertainment, hospitality, or related field is strongly preferred..
- 1+ year of shift leadership experience required, experience leading/managing volunteers preferred.
- The ability to work with basic mathematical concepts, including ratios, percentages, averages, and the like.
- Ability to operate effectively in a Microsoft Office365 ecosystem.
- Prompt and regular attendance is a requirement of this position.

Schedule and Availability Requirements
- We require three days of full availability (9am to 11pm); one of those three days must be Saturday. Availability may be changed/updated approximately every 90 days.
- Typical shifts include 2pm-10pm, 12pm-5pm, and 5:00pm-10pm. Shifts may start as early as 9am, end as late as 11pm, and occasionally last up to 10 hours including meal breaks.
- Schedules are released at least 14 days in advance, and shifts will be assigned based on availability, team preferences/requests, and business needs.
Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands
- A broad range of physical movement, including prolonged sitting, standing, ascending/descending stairs, reaching, twisting and turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities.
- Grasping and gripping, repetitive hand movement, and fine coordination in operating equipment, using tools, and preparing written material.
- Near and far vision in reading, operating equipment, and viewing productions.
- The need to be able to lift, drag, and/or push materials weighing up to 40 pounds using appropriate tools
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a moderate level of noise in the work environment. There are instances when the employee experiences wet or humid conditions. The employee will be exposed to theatrical haze, fog, and strobe effects.
