Part Time Box Office & Sales Agent

Job Summary/Purpose 

Reporting to the Manager, Box Office and Sales, the Box Office & Sales Agent serves as a primary point of contact for patrons across in-person, phone, and digital sales channels. The position provides accurate, welcoming, and knowledgeable ticketing and customer service while promoting SigPro’s programming, donor opportunities, and other experiences. The role also supports event-day operations, Front of House Operations, and cross-departmental patron inquiries while maintaining high standards for accuracy, financial stewardship, and customer care. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Accurately process ticket sales and financial transactions across multiple sales channels, including in-person, telephone, web chat, social media, and email. Proactively identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell patrons on additional performances, experiences, and offerings. Process returns, exchanges, and credits in accordance with SigPro’s terms of sale. 
  • Support and reinforce SigPro’s development strategy by incorporating appropriate donor messaging and opportunities into sales interactions, creating a seamless customer journey from ticket buyer to donor. 
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of SigPro’s venues, seating layouts and options, mission and values, donor and business partner benefits, and programming. Provide knowledgeable, personalized pre-sales assistance to patrons and help them identify ticketing options that best meet their needs. 
  • Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for patrons and customers seeking information about VIP experiences, sponsorships and advertising, donor and volunteer opportunities, venue rentals, employment, and other SigPro programs and services. Create and route helpdesk tickets and sales leads to the appropriate departments as needed.
  • Support House Management operations by printing and distributing will-call tickets; troubleshooting and reprinting orders and tickets; and accurately logging, managing, and returning lost-and-found items to their owners. 
  • Adhere to SigPro’s cash-handling, financial stewardship, and operational policies, processes, and procedures. Maintain accurate records, documentation, and logs in accordance with established standards and training. 
  •  Perform other duties as assigned in support of the organization’s mission.

  • N/A 

Typical Shifts: 

  • M-F 9:30am-2pm  
  • M-F 11am-3:30pm  
  • Will Call: 1 hour and 45 minutes prior to each performance until 45 minutes after published start time  
  • 7pm show = 5:15pm-7:45pm   

Availability Required:  

  • 3 available week days  
  • 2 available week night for will call (may be the same as one of the days)  
  • 2 available Saturdays per month for will call (may be non-consecutive Saturdays and/or irregular patterns)  

Minimum Requirements 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Previous experience in customer service, sales, box office operations, hospitality, or a related field preferred. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly, professional, and service-oriented approach. 
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and other financial transactions. 
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn and use ticketing, CRM, point-of-sale, and other software systems. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments and interact effectively with patrons, donors, artists, and community partners. 
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and event/performance hours as required.

  • Ability to pass background check and legally work in the U.S.

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands 

  • A broad range of physical movement including prolonged sitting, standing, reaching, twisting and turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities 
  • Grasping and gripping, repetitive hand movement and typing 
  • Near and far vision in reading, operating equipment, and viewing productions 
  • The need to be able to lift, drag, and/or push materials weighing up to 25 pounds using 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a modest level of noise in the work environment. There are instances when the employee experiences wet or humid conditions, experiences fumes –mists-gases and chemical hazards. The employee will be exposed to theatrical haze, fog, and strobe effects.
